-Simon Bolivar.
Alina Shevchenko is an artist from Rostov-on-Don, Russia. She has been living in Kamloops, BC, since 2019, when she started her education at Thompson Rivers University. She first graduated with a Diploma in Visual Arts in December 2021 and then a Bachelor of Fine Arts in April 2023. Alina works with different mediums, like oils, acrylics and watercolours, digital illustration, and coloured and black and white photography. Alina explores people and personality as central aspects of her works. Lately, she has shown her interest in women’s individualities and rights. She used the alla prima (wet-on-wet) technique in many of her works, which allowed her to find her brushstroke style in more recent works with the sky, landscapes and even people. Alina had group exhibitions at Kamloops Art Museum and Archives, in Kamloops Art Council, and Monte Creek, BC.
